How do I import my contacts into a group?

 

  1. Select Contacts from the top left
  2. On the right side of the screen click the + to view a drop down menu
  3. Click Import Contacts select the import method and follow the relevant steps listed below:



Connect to Gmail

  1. Click Gmail
  2. Enter a Group name or select an existing group
  3. Click Import
  4. After your import has processed you will see a Complete Import Message indicating the number of contacts added to your account
  5. Click Close

iCloud

  1. Click the iCloud option for import
  2. Enter your Apple ID and Password 

    Note: You may be prompted to verify access to your iCloud data, please refer to the following Apple article for further information: Generate an app-specific password

  3. A message validating your account will appear while processing
  4. From the Import iCloud-Group Name window enter a new group name or you can select an existing group and click import
  5. After your import has processed you will see a Complete Import Message indicating the number of contacts added to your account
  6. Click Close

CSV File

  1. Click the CSV File option for import 
  2. From the window that opens click Browse, this will allow you to search your computer for the correct CSV file you wish to import
  3. After selecting the document containing your contacts click Open
  4. The name of your file will appear in the Import CSV-Select File window, if correct click Next

    Note: You can select Import File does not have headers if no headers are listed in your CSV, if this is the case you will be prompted to match the Act! Essentials Fields with the Columns listed in your CSV    

  5. Import CSV-Map Fields section will allow you to match or change the fields within your CSV to match your Act! Essentials account. Click Next until completed
  6. On the Import CSV-Group Name window you can create a new group or select an existing group for your file, click Import when finished
  7. After your import has processed you will see a Complete Import Message indicating the number of contacts added to your account
  8. Click Close

VCF File

  1. Click the VCF file option for import
  2. From the window that opens click Browse, this will allow you to search your computer for the correct Vcard

    Note: The Vcard will need to have been saved to your desktop prior to import

  3. Click Next
  4. On the Import VCard-Group Name window you can create a new group or select an existing group for your file, click import when finished. 
  5. After your import has processed you will see a Complete Import Message indicating the number of contacts added to your account
  6. Click Close

Our import process does not currently include the option to import notes or history.
